No More Makeup!

Me is currently in Seoul, Korea.

I have no idea who's reading this atm but.. just thought I'd share!

I haven't been doing much makeup related stuff coz of several reason..

- family visiting from aussie and japan

- serious skin breakout, up to the point where I couldn't contain it myself..

- my vaio breaking down on me.. giving me a chance to buy the famous MBP :)

so..

I thought rather than keeping this blog vacant.. w/o anything to read, I'd randomly post stuff to share.. haha

ta-ta to you all :p

Vichy Dermablend & Dermablend Foundation Review :)

hi everyone :)

It's been a while since I've posted anything here.. I've been researching a bit about blogging and how I should run this blog! Although I feel like I have a LONG way to go.. I thought as long as I've started it.. I should keep going!!

Today, I thought I'd do a quick review on the DERMABLEND foundations. Now, where I live it's been very hard to find the Vichy brand ones so I actually ended up getting the actual Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Foundation before I got to purchase the Vichy brand. For any of you who are having a hard time finding them in the US, their online store sells them as well as selected CVS stores! But!! it really is worth buying online since there are only four shades available in the Vichy brand.. so it's hard to get it in your exact color online or offline..

 Enough rambling.. let's take a look!! :)

Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation in 25 Nude & 35 Sand
Left: 35 Sand / Right: 25 Nude

The texture of this foundation, I would say, is between liquid and cream. From the first squeeze, you can tell it would give a very full coverage. Since this line doesn't come in a very wide range of colors, they do differ quite a bit from one shade to another.
Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Foundation in Wheat & Soft Beige
Left: Wheat / Right: Soft Beige

The consistency of Dermablend is pretty much the same as the Vichy (of course they are practically the same brand). However, the Dermablend itself comes in much more various shades. Although they are mostly the matter of whether it's a more warmer or cooler in shade rather than it being darker or lighter.

Left Two: Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Foundation
Right Two: Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation

Although the tube for the Vichy brand seems bigger, the amount of content is the same: 1 fl.oz! so packaging wise.. Dermablend brand would be more environmental! :)
The difference in price is $0.50!!! so there isn't that much of a price difference. Both websites don't ship internationally and I'm not sure about other countries, but Vichy Korea doesn't carry them either.. so it you are somewhere outside the states, you'll have to see if it's sold in your country.

Now, both brands come with a sponge applicator, but I would rather use a brush to apply. I personally like to use Sigma round top kabuki brush. Sometimes for a little less coverage, I mix it with MAC strobe cream and apply with a damp brush. But, LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY with this product!! Which makes it seem less pricey, which is always a good thing :)

PROS:
* GREAT coverage: need less to no concealer after foundation
* Little goes a LONG way, so a tube lasts a long time till you need to repurchase
* Very easy to blend
* Very long lasting, for me, it lasted a full day without having to retouch!
* Full coverage without having to look like I put a thick layer on

CONS:
* NONE :)

All in all, I am in LOVE with the dermablend brand itself! so.. to sum up!

Price: 4/5 (Dermablend$30, Vichy$29.50)
Product: 5/5
Coverage: 5/5
Shades: 4/5
Repurchase? YES :D

Thanks for reading!! have a good one :)

UNII PALETTES!!!!!!!!

halo :)

so.. a couple of days ago i ordered three UNII PALETTES!! :)
and they came today!!

*warning heavy pic load!!!*

so.. if  you open the packaging.. there's instructions to how to depot and how to use the magnetic tapes to place the depotted shadows/powders

the palette comes with a magnetic sheet you can cut!! :) so you don't
need to go out and buy them separately

it has a BIG mirror.. and a thumb grip so you won't need to balance the palette when using!

snow; pomegranate; lemongrass

size.. compared to my hand lol

here's the site for the palettes: uniicosmetics.com
so far.. I AM IN LOVE!!!!!!!

they are $29 each and if you buy two it's $28 each, three-four $27each and five or more $25 each! so if you buy more at once, it's cheaper! and the shipping's free within the US! :)
they come in six colors: snow, coal, pomegranate, lemongrass, eggplant, and twilight

i am still contemplating what i should use them for.. but for now.. i decided to use one for my trip to cali :)

TOP: MISSHA-white, NYX-nude, MISSHA-BR02, MISSHA-GD01, STILA-makalu(black)
BOTTON: MAC-trax, MAC-smut, MAC-woodwink, MILANI-shock
benefit - get bent eyeliner brush, missha - liner brush, MAC brush

i always pack WAY~ too many shadows in different shades.. and i never use them.. just stick to the liners for that pop of color.. since i always choose sleep over makeup;;

of course i will take more makeup than the palette.. but think it's a good combo of shades and all i need for a week!! :)

i'm thinking about putting in a face powder for one of the palettes to carry around with me in my bag.. so will update when i figure out what would work best :)

anyway..
thanks for reading :p
and have a good one!!

my neutral makeup :)

ok..
so here's a bit about me..for whoever's reading :)

I tend to have very dry skin during winter which goes normal during summer..
however..
after i changed my skincare routine last September.. my skin's been turning into a combination type.. but! my cheeks and forehead seems to be in balance..
just not my nose and chin area; which seems to be getting more oily;

to be honest.. this really bothers me!!
I've had dry skin all my life and now i have no idea what i need to do to keep my face balanced lol

anywho.. here are my colors!

NC25/30 winter & NC35/40 summer
I do go tanning on and off during non-summer seasons but during summer I tan just walking around..
so I am one of those people who don't get sunburns and just gets darker and darker.. which I have no complaints about.. :)

I love the neutral and gold colors to play around with..
along with.. greens(deep), navy blues..
colors i don't grab for are the pastels..especially pink and bright blue!
- i just don't think it suits me very well..

I'm a BIG fan of pencil liners.. i just think it comes in such a wide range of colors and when I'm in a hurry I just draw on some pencil liner for that pop of color without eyeshadow.

that's all i can think of for now to share.. but! I am leaving a picture of my fave makeup i do just about everyday when i have a bit of time but not TOO much time or want to go full out! :p

enjoy!
